Shoot

Day 1-Dancer run through and warm up

On the first day of shooting we met with the dancer and took her to our location. On arrival we unpacked and set up whilst Melanie warmed up and with our runner. After Melanie had warmed up we discussed the shot plan and a rough idea of our desired outcome. The next step was taking Melanie around the school to get her familiar with the location. Whilst walking around the school we took short breaks in the rooms we had previously selected to use in the film. A tripod and speakers were set up in the marked out locations and we filmed small test runs and small improvised dance.

Day 2/3-Cameos and clean up

As our dancer could only make the first and last day of our shoot we needed to make sure we complected everything we could without Melanie such as cameos, time laps, moving objects from rooms, removing panels and soundproofing from main hall and a very thorough clean.

Day 4-Shoot day

After looking over the rushes from the first shoot day we decided to make some minor changes to our shots and the dancers outfit. Once Melanie had warmed up and eaten we ran through the shot plan shot by shot through out the day. As we had already done a semi detailed run through on the first day of shooting the filming progressed at a steady pace.
